Back To School Diet Tips

As kids get ready to go back to school already! it’s important to figure out how to make sure you get active this autumn as well as the kids in order to keep weight gain at bay.

Sadly, more younger people are becoming completely sedentary, which is causing them to struggle with their body weight at a younger age and then throughout life. This is due to many activities for the young being centred around video games and electronic equipment together with the fact that parents like to keep an eye on kids and not let them wander the streets as much nowadays.

The good news however is though if you make fitness a family affair, it doesn’t need to be a problem to get some physical and healthy activites into daily routines.  The key is finding activities both you and your children enjoy so  you can stay active and get fit together.

This will help reduce the chances that your kids suffer from body weight issues in future and also helps to strengthen your family ties as well.

Outdoor Cycling

Outdoor cycling is a fun form of exercise for you to do with your kids. Most children enjoy this form of exercise as well and especially in the autumn season the weatehr can be fresh and exhilerating whilst not being too hot for cycling. Perfect for a brisk biking adventure.

Cycling is perfect for giving the cardiovascular system a workout as well as strengthening  quads, hamstrings, and glutes.

Pack a healthy lunch to take for a picnic if you have time to make a day of it.

Frisbee

Frisbee is another great activity to do with kids. It is always popular and incredibly simple and cost effective.  Frisbee combines a high amount of running to keep heart rates up burn calories together with the skill of hand-eye coordination. This will help improve performance in other other organized sports activities.

Paddle Boating

Finally, paddle boating is the another activity kids love which will help burn off excess energy. Take the opportunity while the weather is still warmer and the sun still shining to get out on the water for a few hours.

Paddle boating makes for a good lower body workout and will provide great fun at the same time. Also it tends not to be as busy in the autumn season so you can get the run of the lake.

If you have older kids, you might also consider canoeing or kayaking as an alternative.

Use these ideas to get you started on getting active with your kids this autumn.  It’s important for a parent to set a good example for your kids in showing how much fun leading an active lifestyle can be. If you work on building enjoyment in physical exercise now, there is a much greater chance that your kids will maintain these behaviours over the long term and won’t have to worry about weight problems in their adult years.
