Vegan celebrity diets

Ellen DeGeneres after watching Earthlings, apparently stopped eating meat and other animal products. Pictures of slaughterhouses and factories filled with animals suffering were the catalyst to change her eating habits. Her reasons reportedly were her love  of animals.

With her wife Portia De Rossi she is said to have served an totally vegan menu at their 2008 wedding. Ellen also runs a vegan blog through her show’s website and recently teamed up with Chrissie Hynde with pans to open a vegan restaurant.

Alanis Morisette faluanted a slimmer figure in 2009. She is said to have decided to change her lifestyle and diet after reading Eat To Live. Following a vegan celebrity diet she lost 20 pounds on the vegan diet and allegedly lost her aches and pains.

The Clueless actress, Alicia Silverstone cringes at the idea of eating animal products. She spoke with Oprah Winfrey in 2010 about why she decided to go vegan saying her Clueless days were full of steak and donuts. Years later, she has built a virtual empire out of her veganism. Alicia penned a cookbook, The Kind Life, and has an accompanying  lifestyle and food website.

Vodka

Vodka is a low calorie alcoholic drink so it is no surprise that the diet conscious use it in place of more high calorie alcoholic beverages. Sienna Miller and Liz Hurley are said to swap wine for vodka. One vodka shot contains around 55 calories, compared to 115 calories in a standard glass of wine.

Mix with a low calorie drink such as diet coke or slimline tonic and you have the perfect low calorie alcoholic drink.

See the alcohol calorie counter for more details of calories in alcoholic drinks.

Vinegar

Not a very appetizing way to lose weight but reportedly Megan Fox and Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie both admit to drinking vinegar to keep in peak slim condition .

Cindy Crawford is also supposedly a vinegar fan to curb appetite before going out for a meal.

It is believed that shots of vinegar flush out fat in the colon, aid digestion and clean out the system.

Organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar is one of the more savoury vinegar alternatives to use on celebrity diets.
