Climb Stairs

This is a fast way to get in some cardio exercise at home. Most homes have stairs and running up and down the stairs at home is an effective way to exercise without any equipment at home. It exercises the leg muscles and is a good form of cardio exercise.  Stair running can be very effective for burning off body fat. You can tkae the stairs two at a time or in single steps.

Run up and down the stairs three or four times then take a minute’s rest whilst walking around at a slow pace.  Repeat this exercise routine another four to five times. This is an east to do exercise at home routine for mena nd women and a fantastic fat burning workout.

Try the Skipping Rope

Another alternative to running stairs is jumping a skipping rope.  Skipping with a rope is an intense calorie burner and can burn even more calories than a fast run would. This form of exercise is a popular one with boxers for agility as well as cardio workouts. There is some skill involved so take it slow at first till you get the right rhythm and then build up the speed and period of time skipping.

Be sure to be patient with yourself with this exercise however as it can take some getting used to.

Try and skip for one minute non-stop if you can, then allow a minute of rest.  Alternate between on and off periods ten to twelve times to create this skipping at home workout.

Try Adjustable Dumbbells

For resistance training, if you want to firm up fast, getting adjustable dumbbells is a good choice.  You can perform moves to target the entire body with these and they are easy to use at home for exercise routines including lunges, squats, shoulder presses, chest presses, bent over rows, bicep curls, tricep extensions and lateral raises.

Perform eight to twelve reps of each exercise then move from one right to the next as quickly as you are able to.  Rest for two minutes once the circuit is completed and then perform once more all the way through and you’ll be well on your way to adding  muscle definition.

Try Resistance Bands

Finally, if you aren’t into dumbbells, try using resistance bands in your at home exercise routine.  These are becoming popular for home workouts because they can easily be stored away when not in use.

Hold each end of the resistance band in either of your hands and perform similar exercises as you would with your dumbbells. For example use an exercise plan with squats, shoulder presses, chest presses, bicep curls, lateral raises and bent over rows.

The above are some quick tips for creating an effective and fast at home workout routine for women and men.  Try doing your resistance training exercises twice per week and your cardio workout twice per week as well, while also combining this with a great diet and you will have an effective fat burning formula that will also tone your body.
