What is the Lemonade Diet Plan?

The Lemonade Diet is also known as the Master Cleanse Diet. It has survived the test of time unlike many fad diets and has now been around for over 60 years. Celebrities and nutrition gurus support the health benefits and spectacular body transformations that the Lemonade Diet provides.

The Lemonade Diet or Master Cleanse was created by a dietitian called Stanley Burroughs in 1941. It was designed to supports healthy weight loss and help eliminate toxins and congestion. It’s benefits as well as fast weight loss are to cleanse the kidneys; cleanse the digestive system; eliminate waste in the colon; increase energy; remove cravings for drugs, alcohol, tobacco and junk food; and alleviate some chronic diseases. Due to the drastic nature of the Lemonade Diet you should consult with your doctor before starting the Lemonade Diet.

Lemonade Diet Beyonce Style

The most famous lemonade dieter is Beyonce Knowles.  She admitted using the master cleanse diet to lose 20 lbs for her role in the movie Dreamgirls as Dina.  The former Destiny’s Child star wanted to lose weight quickly as her role in the movie depicted a slim figured character.

Beyonce chose the lemonade fast as the quick way to lose weight, cleanse and detox all at the same time.

Although the lemonade diet resulted in quick weight loss, Beyonce soon gained the weight back.  The Master Cleanse is only a short-term diet solution but for rapid weight loss the lemonade diet really does work.

Lemonade Diet Menu

Although it may sound like a fad diet the Lemonade Diet is in fact a valid diet plan. If followed correctly, you consume approximately 1200 calories minimum a day. Nutrient rich Maple Syrup provides around 100-200 calories per serving of the lemonade and is consumed 6-10 times a day. Each ingredient of the Lemonade Diet is designed to impart a  beneficial property to aid the body cleansing process. Below are the individual components of the diet.


Lemons are packed with vitamin C which is an energy booster and powerful vitamin  especially for increasing the immune system. Lemons are potent for dissolving kidney and gall bladder stones, cleansing the bladder and colon and ridding the body of deposits of calcium.

Cayenne Pepper

It is thought that cayenne pepper is more powerful than any other herb because of it’s ability to regulate blood flow. Cayenne pepper has been successfully used to reverse heart attack symptoms. The ability to regulate blood flow and actually increase it within seconds makes cayenne a vital ingredient in the Lemonade Diet for speeding up elimination of toxins in the blood stream.

Grade B / Pure Maple Syrup

Grade B or pure rich Maple Syrup is very high in vitamins and is recommended for cleansing. Grade A syrup is not recommended because of the refinement process that it suffers which depletes the vitamins and minerals in the syrup. Grade B Maple Syrup has B2, B5, B6, PP, Biotin and Folic plus the main minerals calcium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. Amino acids (protein building blocks) are also found in Grade B Maple Syrup.

Salt Water Flush

Make sure you use uniodized sea salt as regular or iodized salt is not as beneficial. This procedure flushes your digestive tract and colon usually within an hour clearing out plaque and debris from the walls plus the parasites that have been living there.

How does the Lemonade Diet work?

The diet works by creating detoxification and weight loss. It comprises of the lemonade of pure lemon juice, grade b maple syrup, and cayenne pepper with water and should be consumed 6-10 times a day. Herbal laxative tea is taken twice a day. No other food is consumed. An oral salt water flush is taken every morning to wash out the intestinal track.

The goal of the Lemonade Diet is to rest the digestive tract and rid the body of chemical impurities and  toxins stored in the body and burn excess fat storage. Reduction in weight is a natural side effect of this diet as the toxins stored in fat deposits which are otherwise difficult to burn are released and stubborn excess weight is shifted.

The instructions for the Lemonade Diet are:

1. Drink about 100 ounces of the lemonade each day. This amounts to about 6-10 servings.

2. Drink the salt water flush first thing in the morning

3. Drink the herbal laxative tea in the morning at night before bed.

4. Do not eat anything while on the Lemonade Diet. Drink only the lemonade, saltwater flush and herbal tea.
